5 Tips for Cleaning Your Vape Tank the Right Way

Most modern vaping devices contain a vape tank that hosts vape juice before exposure to a heating coil. It is a reusable tank system that continues to supply e-liquid until the juice needs to be replaced. A vape tank is responsible for a consistent supply of e-liquid. It’s crucial to clean and maintain it as this can significantly impact your e-liquid’s flavor and the overall vape experience.

Periodic cleaning of the vape devices, especially the vape tank, ensures long-term usage and performance. It also gets rid of any traces left from your last e-juice whenever you switch flavors. In addition, regular cleaning removes a sticky build-up caused by the thickening of older e-juice due to humidity and temperature, thus boosting performance.

While cleaning the vape tank is necessary, it is vital to do it in the right way. Here are five tips that’ll assist you in cleaning your vape tank and ensure it performs optimally.

1. The Simple Rinse

The first step is to ensure your vape tank is empty of vape juice. Dispose of any e-liquid remaining before disassembling your tank. During disassembling, you’ll need to pay close attention to how different parts fit together and keep them all organized.

Next, place your vape tank inside a bowl filled with hot water. You can also place the rest of the parts in hot water for more effective cleaning. Keep them submerged until the water cools down, and rinse them under a tap.

After thoroughly rinsing, you’ll need paper towels to dry the tank entirely and set it aside for a few minutes. It will evaporate any remaining moisture, after which you can reassemble the tank.

Always wash your vape tank with water when switching from a high-strength nicotine flavor, such as cheap salt nic juice 50 mg, to a fruity or dessert flavor, as this will eliminate any lingering smell.

2. Deep clean with Propylene Glycol (PG)

Another technique involves soaking your tank in PG for a deeper clean. PG is a sweet and transparent viscous liquid that is generally safe to handle and ingest. For these reasons, this organic compound is used as a solvent in household cleaning agents.

For cleaning the vape tank with PG, you’ll need to fill a bowl with the solvent and allow your tank to sit in for an hour or two. Now, take the vape tank out and place it on a napkin to dry it out completely.

Deep cleaning with PG is an excellent way to remove any unwanted or leftover flavor.

3. Rinse in Vinegar or Baking Soda

High-strength, thicker e-juice favors can leave a greasy, thick residue in your vape tank, thus affecting the flavors and vapor production. To remove this, try rinsing the tank with natural cleaning agents, such as vinegar or baking soda.

Baking soda can dissolve grease and sticky compounds without scratches on the vape tank, while vinegar removes stains and lingering e-liquid smell.

Vaping devices are prone to come in contact with dirty surfaces that might attract unwanted germs, which can be eliminated using vinegar.

Both these ingredients are excellent cleaning products for vape tanks, but ensure to rinse the tank thoroughly with water after cleaning.

4. Use Isopropyl Alcohol for Non-Plastic Tanks

During vaping, the warm vapor comes in contact with cooler elements of the device, which condenses the vapor and leaves sticky, resinous sediment. This slows down the device’s working and affects your experience.

One of the simplest ways to clean the tank is to soak it in isopropyl alcohol and rinse it with warm water.

But remember to soak only glass tanks in alcohol as alcohol can discolor or dissolve the plastic ones. Instead, you can use a cotton ball soaked in isopropyl alcohol to clean plastic vape tanks. This will allow you to remove residue without damaging the tank in any way.

After you are through with the cleaning, always use paper towels to dry out any moisture in the vape tank.

5. The Ultrasonic Cleaner

If your vape tank and coils are clogged with thick e-juice residue, this is the most advanced and effective method to clean them. An ultrasonic cleaner uses high-frequency sound waves transmitted through liquids to remove contaminants, such as dust, dirt, oil, and grease, from metal, glass, or hard plastic surfaces.

Cleaning your vape tank and other parts is extremely easy with an ultrasonic cleaner. You’ll need to fill the device with water, put the vape tank inside it, and run it until the tank is spotless. Now, rinse your tank and let it dry out.

Contrary to the traditional nicotine delivery techniques, vaping devices can last longer if cleaned regularly. Whether it’s a new device or a well-used one, you’ll only need 20 minutes once a week to keep your tank clean. In addition, regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure you get the maximum flavor and vapor with every hit, which is crucial to provide the best vape experience possible.
