Motivation is one of the most powerful and elusive forces in the world. It has been argued that without it, we wouldn’t be able to act at all. In this post I will be exploring 8 unheralded ways you can increase your own levels of motivation like reading ungrateful non appreciation quotes. These strategies are backed by science and psychology to ensure that they work where others have failed you.
There is a well known saying: “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”. If you try to motivate yourself by working hard alone, you will likely find that motivation soon fades and the goal seems further out of reach than before. It’s only when we make time for play that we are able to re-energize our passion for the big picture, which in turn provides us with more motivation to forge ahead on our goals.
When you choose something that you truly care about as your goal, it will motivate you every step of the way. It’s something that will give you the interest and drive to stay on course and achieve your goal. You will be in a position to enjoy the journey, not just looking at the destination.
Find a way to motivate yourself by using creative ways, find another way of thinking about it and make it your own unique motivation. For example, if you are struggling to motivate yourself to start an exercise routine then ask yourself how much better you would feel once in shape?
When trying to increase motivation it’s easy to forget all the good things that came from working hard in the past. By looking back at what you have achieved, you are able to build your motivation. On the other hand, if you aren’t able to look back and see what you have accomplished in the past, it’s likely that your motivation levels will drop as it seems like all of your hard work isn’t worth anything.
When trying to achieve a long term goal, it can feel like an almost impossible task. In the beginning it can be especially difficult to stay motivated as our minds are conjuring up lots of reasons why we should give up and quit now! One way to combat this is by starting small with a short term goal that is directly connected with your long term goal. For example, if your long term goal is writing a novel, then you could begin by writing a short story that you can proofread and then improve upon. Once you have finished this short story, you are halfway towards your long term goal. You are now more motivated to carry on and make progress with the next part of your goal.
It’s important to stay motivated when working towards a long term goal, but it’s even more important to reward yourself for getting there rather than stay motivated by punishing yourself for not achieving the goal at once. You should avoid doing anything that will cause you to come crashing down when you don’t achieve this goal. When it comes to achieving something, reward yourself with anything but failure! For example, if you have successfully completed a short story, then show it to people that are close to you and ask them what they like about it. You will be able to gauge their reactions and take inspiration from this.
By using the above strategy of rewarding yourself with what you desire, you will have increased your motivation to continue going after your goal and achieve it in the first place. This is especially true if what you are trying to achieve requires something that you want or enjoy. The basic idea here is that by rewarding yourself with what you desire, it will make the achievement of your goal feel more like a reward for working hard and not a burden.
The secret to achieving things is that it takes motivation and desire in the first place. If you have these two things already, then doing ANYTHING will feel great and rewarding to you!
There are lots of different methods for motivating yourself and improving your motivation levels, but all of them have one thing in common, they require motivation and desire to begin with.
Don’t forget that motivation is the key to success and when you work on increasing your motivation, you are working towards achieving your goals. Be sure to put these 8 unheard ways to achieve greater motivation into action and see how effective they are.
