Fitness coaching is a rewarding and rewarding career option for people who love fitness, enjoy being around people, and want to help others reach their fitness goals. Fitness coaches can also take a job in a reputed gym such as baileys gym. The process of becoming a certified coach can be long, but with these nine facts you’ll be well on your way!

Through their understanding of many different areas of fitness, they can determine what type of training style is best suited for a person’s current level and fitness goals.
There are several other steps you’ll need to complete in order for the certification board to award you the coveted “CC.” You’ll need to complete a sport-specific training course (if you are a personal trainer), or take training courses in subjects like biomechanics, nutrition and exercise physiology. All accredited certification boards require continuing education credits in order to maintain your certification.
The ACE Level I and II Certification is accepted worldwide. This certification is offered in both the United States and Canada. The program consists of 3 steps. Step 1: Sports-specific training course (if you are a personal trainer), or take training courses in subjects like biomechanics, nutrition and exercise physiology. All accredited certification boards require continuing education credits in order to maintain your certification.
Depending on how quickly you can complete each section of the course’s curriculum. Step 2: Online learning course. ACE certified professionals are required to take an online course regarding the ACE Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct. Step 3: Preparing for your own certification exam. The exam consists of over 200 questions and must be completed in less than 3 hours. If you are successful on your first attempt at the exam, you will be certified in Personal Training by ACE.
Once you pass all of the ACE Fitness Coaching exams, you will need to complete an application with your chosen certification board and schedule an interview with them in order for them to vote on whether you are eligible for certification. All certification boards require that you pass a criminal background check, provide references and submit an essay regarding your professional philosophy of fitness. If you are successful, the certification board will issue you with your “CC.”
The application process can take from 3-10 weeks, but once your application is approved, you’ll need to pass eight hours of continuing education courses every two years to maintain your certification. Continue to learn and teach. The last step is to maintain your certification by becoming a continuing education professional (CEC). You will need to complete twelve hours of continuing education courses every two years in order for the board to consider you certified.
You will be able to test for your fitness coach certification through a test administered by the American Council on Exercise. The test is given in person and you will be tested on your knowledge of the ACE Fitness Coaching Code of Ethics, ACE Fitness Coaching Core Values, and ACE Fitness Coaching Principles. The test is 65 minutes long and consists of multiple choice questions that must be answered in less than three hours.
Once you are certified as a fitness coach, you will be eligible for several websites and publications that only those who are certified can post on or publish in. You may also be able to join professional organizations specific to your area of certification.
If you become gainfully employed as a fitness coach and want to expand your career opportunities, there is an option available through what is called “gainful employment”. This provides you with the ability to further your education and be prepared for a higher level of employment opportunities. You’ll need to have passed a test regarding your competence, contact each of the commissions below, and apply to be accepted.
