Huawei has been doing launches in every niche of technology, whether it could be smartphones, laptops, smartwatches and every other niche out there, but not only these, they have joined the hands with the ear of tablets by their many different offering called Huawei pad.
In today’s article, we will talk about a sensational Huawei pad called the name of “Huawei Padm5”.
Despite its shortcomings, the Huawei Pad M5 10 is a superb tablet. I love how it looks and feels. It’s well-built, charges quickly, and has a beautiful display and nice speakers. Lack of audio jack and low-performance camera are the only things missing. Some users have issues with the tablet’s 32 GB version; however, adding an external card can be easily rectified.
The Pad M5 devices, like most iPad contenders, have a slim profile, with brushed metal unibodies and a glass front that tapers elegantly at the sides, similar to the iPad. Their design is comparable to that of a high-end iPad or Samsung Galaxy Tab.
On the reverse, the top and bottom margins are decorated with a row of dots. They’re Harman Kardon-tuned speakers (four on the larger models, two on the 8.4-inch). Even at high volumes, you won’t hear any distortion. To get the party started, you’ll need a nice Bluetooth speaker.
If you want to listen discreetly, you’ll also need Wireless earbuds because none of the models has a 3.5mm audio connection. As long as you don’t lose or forget the accompanying headphone jack to the USB-C adaptor.
Fingerprint authentication is enabled by default and works well, but be careful if you use it. Huawei pad m5 will require a PIN to unlock your tablet after three days of inactivity. You will only have five attempts.
After a half-dozen failed login attempts, I understood I was about to get locked out. I’m not going to lie. A solution for this overly cautious feature is still out of my reach.
I would suggest that if you’re going to use it at home, you might want to disable the fingerprint login feature. Never forget the pin!
As a casual user, the battery should last for at least a couple of days or 10 hours of screen use. I used the Pad M5 to play a few games, check my email, read the news, and binge-watch The Staircase on Netflix. Despite this, none of Huawei’s tablets is water-resistant.
But Huawei has made it look more like iOS by smoothing sharp edges and removing the app drawer. The whole thing runs well on Android 8.0 Oreo, Google’s latest operating system. Not much has gone wrong with the Huawei skin, except that it is several months behind Google security patches.
Most Android apps now work much better on tablets, although there aren’t nearly as many as there are on an iPad. Because this is true for all large-screen Android devices, I can’t hold Huawei responsible for this issue, which is a shame.
This is a fantastic alternative to Samsung’s Galaxy Tab and the iPad mini.
These days, the iPad mini is only available with 128GB of storage. Despite this, the £419 price tag isn’t excessive compared to the 449€ Pad M5.
However, if you’re looking for a cheaper tablet, 2018 9.7in iPad starts at £319 for the 32GB version. It’s hard to endorse the Pad when the iPad has a headphone jack, supports the Apple Pencil, and, well, it runs iOS.
