First of all, let’s start with a history lesson. These are cool skateboard stencils for cutting out! Stencils are used for many different things but there was a point in time that cool skateboard stickers hit the scene and people started using them for anything from skateboards to art projects or just as decoration at parties.

How to use it?

You can cut your stencils out by hand but I prefer to use a ruler. You will need a piece of paper or card as big as the stencil you are using and a pencil. Then you can use your ruler to put dots or smudges on the back side of your stencil and then use an exacto knife or any other tool that has a blade on it to cut through the paper (and stencil). If the blade is dull, you will want to sharpen it before cutting the first few times. The exacto knife blades are like steel except they are cuts instead of scratches so they last longer and don’t damage the surface underneath them.

Material used:

The best material to use is a print out of the stencil or a cardboard. Cardboard is much better because it is thicker but paper will work as well. Some people use thick aluminum sheets to cut the stencils out. This will last the longest if you take care of it, but it is not recommended for beginners because these are hard to cut through and easy to mess up.

Color and pattern:

Let’s say that your stencils are for “skateboard letters“. The first thing you will want to consider is the color you are going for and how many different colors/patterns would be cool. Stencils come in two sizes and they are either 5″x7″ or 8.5″x11”. The larger one is more popular because it is easier to cut using a ruler but only if you really want to. The smaller stencil is more suited for smaller runs and also works better for some people (like those with small hands).

I would consider putting at least 2-3 different colors on a stencil because it’s fun to change things up a bit and make the design pop. That being said, don’t hold back if the designs are crazy and different from the original. You can always take them off if you don’t like them or mess up.

Features of the board:

Here is where you would put in all the information that is relevant. If you want to know what kind of padding it has, then this would be the place to write it down. You can also add any other features that you may have noticed on a board that looks cool.

If you are wondering how much the product costs, then let me tell you now. It all depends on where you get it and how many stencils are on the package. The good news is, it’s very affordable! From what I have been told, the package contains around 50-100 stencils of different designs and patterns.

Pros of the stencil:

I have heard a few comments that these are the best stencils they have ever used. The only other thing I can say is, they are easy to cut and very durable. There is nothing worse than getting through a line or pattern and then having it rip because it was too thick or too thin.

Cons of the stencil:

I will try to be as unbiased as possible so you can take in all of this information on how good of a product this is and still make your decision on whether or not you want to buy one. You need to sharpen your blade like I said before or it will rip the stencil right off the paper right away. It’s not that hard to do, but I would also suggest having a friend help you out while you are practicing as well as using this method because there is little room for error.
