An Intro to Linkswell in Under 10 Minutes

What is linkswell?

Linkswell is a new way to discover and share what your friends are up to. We aggregate the posts of your friends, family, and people you follow into one beautiful feed. Linkswell was created by Hubspot Labs – a team of engineers at HubSpot who love connecting people through technology!

What can I do with Linkswell?

You can read what others have been posting about their weekend plans for starters. You can also update your own feed about recent happenings in your life or anything else by posting new content or replying to posts you like for the first time ever, all from the same place.

What kinds of content can I post or like?

You can post or like anything you want. We have special ‘stickers’ that let you express a sentiment, like a photo, or mention something specific. You can even create your own stickers by taking a photo or editing an existing one (more on that later). We’ll give you inspiration for what might work on our blog and via social media. And all posts will be curated based on the keywords you use to describe those posts. If you want to know more about what we’re curating, or how posts are assigned keywords, please read our blog on the ‘How Linkswell Works’ section of this site.

Who is Linkswell most useful for?

Linkswell is great for you, if you want to share what’s happening in your life. You can post as much or as little as you like (from one word to long-form text) and follow other readers who are also interested in what’s going on with you. If you want to know what your family is up to. Linkswell will let you follow your family members and friends (and follow others who are posting about you) in one place. If you want to keep up with the people and companies that interest you. You can be notified when these people or companies post new content and easily reply to posts that catch your eye. These posts could be great pictures, updates from companies you like, or links to blogs or news articles that you wish more people were reading.

Will Linkswell be available to everyone?

We’re only launching with United States-based users until we can clear up some bugs in different countries. After that date, we’ll let everyone try Linkswell for free! If you find a bug or have questions about how Linkswell works, please let us know on the ‘How to Use’ page. Or email info@linkswell.com . And if you’re reading this on our blog, we’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below! If you have any questions about our launch, please email support@linkswell.com and let us know what they are. Thanks!

Who created Linkswell?

We’re all nerds. We get excited about new technology, but one thing we lacked was a simple way to connect with the people we really want to know. That’s where Linkswell came from. We started in October of 2011 when James Joiner, our development lead for Hubspot Labs (formerly at Facebook), met with Mike Volpe and me at HubSpot HQ (Mike is the VP of marketing). We talked about our love for connecting people to one another and creating personal social networks, but none of them had anything that worked quite like what we wanted. The key was being able to find and share personal content – pictures, videos, text – in an easy way.

What is Hubspot?

HubSpot is a marketing software company. Our team of engineers create tools that help marketers connect with the people they want to work with, show them things that matter to them, and keep their marketing efforts moving in the right direction. We love creating new things and hope you’ll feel the same when you use Linkswell!

Linkswell is sponsored by our friends at Hubspot Labs. Hubspot Labs builds some really amazing tools for marketers and salespeople. If you want more information about how these tools work, check out our blog on ‘How Linkswell Works’. And if you’d like to learn more about Hubspot Labs, check out hubspotlabs.com .

How do I get started using Linkswell?

So you’ve decided to give us a try. We hope that your experience is great and that it makes navigating the web just a bit easier.

These are the steps to get started:

1. You’ll need to navigate to https://linkswell.com and sign up for an account if you haven’t already. You’ll be able to create a profile (individual or family) and start sharing content with your friends or family members once you finish this step (if you don’t already have them).

2. Once you have an account, login and explore what’s available in our dashboard . The ‘Explore’ tab is a great place for you to start. Once you find something interesting, you can post a reply, repost, or like the original post. You can also follow someone who has interesting content.

3. In that same space, let’s look at what you’ll see when you login to Linkswell in the future (most likely via mobile device). The home screen shows this ‘Discover’ section that we call your feed where all of your friends and family members share their life moments with one another. You’ll see links to reply to this post or repost it so others will be able to see the photo on their own feed as well as the activity around it.

4. Once you see a post that you’d like to share with others, tap the ‘Reply’ button and type something in to add a reply. You’ll be able to choose what content (from your camera roll and/or Instagram) that you would like to add to this post as well as type text for all of your friends and family members to see.

5. Once you’ve posted a reply, it will be added to your feed on Linkswell and all of your friends and family members who follow you will be able to see it by visiting the ‘Discover’ section of their own feed on linkswell.com.

6. Every time you visit linkswell.com, the ‘Discover’ space will show the latest posts from your friends and family members. New posts will always be at the top of your feed and older ones can be accessed by going to ‘Explore’ and scrolling to where you left off.
