How to Start a Company in Harvard Yard“.

Although so-called Harvard yard is great for tourists,

passionate businesspeople who want to start companies there will find it difficult.

There are many things that need to be taken into consideration before starting a company in Harvard area.

First of all, property prices are astronomically expensive.

On the other hand, startup companies need higher turnover

than established enterprises because they lack sufficient cash flow and human resources.

To begin with, you’ll have to ensure your company has the right product or service and obtain patents accordingly.

You’ll need to consider that Harvard is a communal area

you must take into account many public places such as libraries, hospitals and transport facilities.

There are many ways you can move forward with your company.

Firstly, you can try starting your business in a house or living space.

You’ll need to consider the risks involved with this and be sure to work it out with any roommates you might have.

Secondly, you can rent an office for $850 – $1,200/month,

though this may be rather costly for startups that need more capital for business development.

Thirdly, you have public or shared workspaces for between $450 – $700/month.

However, it is best not to spend too much time there as things

can get difficult as other entrepreneurs share your ideas and thus clash with the form of management regarding how to handle the business.

There are also a great number of entrepreneurship courses at Harvard that can be helpful for business development.

The Harvard Extension School offers the following courses: the undergraduate Certificate in

Entrepreneurship and Innovation, a 100-hour free online course on entrepreneurship skills for HR professionals and an Executive MBA program.

Another Project is information for Harvard Business School students in which

they can contribute their personal opinions on topics that they are interested in.

The HBS Blog started in October 2004 with the idea of making an Internet site where Harvard Business School students

can ask questions and discuss issues related to their studies.

The Blog is also open to Harvard Business School alumni, professors, administrators, family members, and anyone else interested in being part of the conversation.

The intention is to build a community where people can discuss lessons learned from courses or persons

that have passed through HBS or are currently on campus.

As a starting point for the discussion, every blog entry will be linked to an article on this page of

the WikiHBS website which represents input from multiple sources. Those pages are edited by anyone who wants to contribute thoughts.

The HBS Campus Blogs are managed by the Administrative Department of the Harvard Business School.

This blog allows members of the administrative offices at Harvard Business School

to share relevant announcements, university updates, department updates, photos, etc.

The Class Blog site allows students in each HBS class to contribute blog posts for their respective classes.

These student contributions are not vetted before posting.

This is a large collection of blog posts written by students in various years about their personal experiences at HBS in classrooms or extracurricular activities.

This site features essays written by students on various aspects of life at HBS about their personal experiences there.
