Enhance Your Garden: Beautiful Plants to Grow in Your Garden

Gardening shows to be beneficial to everyone in a variety of ways; health and wellness. Gardening can increase your mood and help you feel relaxed after a busy day. What could be better than being in excellent condition and living a healthy lifestyle while making your garden a beautiful place to spend?

Are you fond of gardening and can’t decide whether you grow flowers, vegetables, or fruits? How about planting them all? The most tricky part of starting up gardening is deciding what kind of plant to cultivate. Well, don’t worry; we’ve got your back. Take a look at these easy-to-grow plants that will thrive when planted this summer.

Nasturtium

The nasturtium is a bright, easy-to-grow plant. Their eye-catching blossoms and delicious seed pods, leaves, and blossoms make them lovely plants to grow. These quick-spreading plants give a colorful design all summer days. The bright color trumpet-like blooms make your garden attractive.

These attractive plants thrive in pots or as ground cover in garden areas. Nasturtium seeds may be planted directly in your garden or grown inside. However, since their delicate roots are susceptible to transplanting, it is preferable to sow them directly. Nasturtiums need full sunlight to partial shade on well-draining but poor soil for more prominent flowers.

Water it regularly during the growing season, but be cautious not to waterlog it. Nasturtium germinates rapidly, develops swiftly, and has vast, colorful blooms. While the common nasturtium is annual, you may also cultivate them from cuttings. Click Here to know more on how to propagate nasturtium.

Cosmos

Cosmos are blooming annual plants that may be grown by simply putting seeds in your garden once the frost has passed. Cosmos plants will be fully mature in two months. The blooms sit on top of long, thin stalks, creating a mist of color that not only looks lovely during summer and also attracts butterflies, birds, and bees to your garden.

Cosmos plants are easy to cultivate in garden beds and make excellent cut flowers. Choose a location that receives full sunlight for the most delicate bloom. Cosmos will thrive in partial sun but will produce fewer flowers and be less robust. They flourish in full sunlight for extended periods under the hottest weather.

Cosmos plants like neutral to moderately acidic soil; however, they will thrive in poor or dry soil. Avoid too rich soils, which may lead plants to grow excessively tall and droop over. You may avoid this by staking the plants or planting them near other plants that can sustain them.

Potato

Potatoes are an annual plant in the Solanaceae nightshade family, cultivated for its starchy consumable tubers. Potatoes are easy-to-grow plants that provide big crops. Potatoes are cultivated in cold weather and are often referred to as roots since they grow in the ground.

Potatoes are preferable in full sunlight. They are actively rooted plants and produce the best harvest when planting them in loose, light, and well-draining soil. Potatoes are preferable in a bit acidic soil with 5.0 to 7.0 PH. Sow potato seeds 12 inches apart in rows and cover with 3 inches of soil.

The potato plants will begin to sprout after a few weeks. Then, carefully fill the trench with a few inches of dirt, leaving the plant’s top exposed. Allow the potato plants and the weather to inform you when it’s time to harvest them. Before you start picking, wait until the tops of the vines have entirely perished.

Cabbage

Cabbage is an annual vegetable crop grown for its dense leaf bunches. They are leafy green, white, or red biennial plants and are considered cool-weather crops. Plant cabbage in springtime to reap before the summer weather or grow it in the middle to late summer to harvest during the cold days of fall or winter and early spring.

Cabbage needs direct sunshine not less than six to eight hours every day. Water in the morning and at the plant’s base or soil level, keeping the leaves dry. Water cabbage plants when the top two inches of soil look dry to the touch.

Cabbage is ready to harvest 80 to 180 days when grown from seed and 65 to 105 days when planted from transplants, depending on the cultivar. Cabbage is ready to harvest when the heads have reached the proper size and are sturdy. Mature heads that remain on the stem can split.

Cherry

Cherry is a fleshy drupe that grows on several plants of the genus Prunus. Cherries are easy to cultivate and require minimal maintenance. Plant cherries in full sunlight with adequate air circulation in late autumn or early spring.

Cherries are preferable in fertile, well-drained soil with a temperature of 6.5 to 6.7 degrees celsius. The fruit will be solid and wholly colored when it is ripe. Sour cherries slip off the stem when ripe, while sweet cherries should be tested to assess ripeness.

Takeaway

Gardening is simple to start and does not take much effort. Gardening is a great pastime to feel relish, and at the same time, it is excellent for your mind and body. Make gardening one of your passions. Following proper and easy ways of planting will assure you to enjoy the fruit of your labor.
