Computers have taken over the world and now they’re so complicated that they’re beyond comprehension. It’s a truth universally acknowledged that the faster our computers get, the slower we become. But if you know how to prioritize and how to read your computer menu, then you’ll be able to operate it like a pro in no time at all! Xcom ew tech tree is a gift from the alien war gods and it will be your holy guide to using technology efficiently.
The Tree is divided into four branches: Combat Processors, Weapon Systems, Smart Materials, and Cloning Vats. Each branch is subdivided into three levels of upgrades: Primary, Secondary and Tertiary. They are named like this so you can quickly distinguish them without having to read the description at the bottom or have to memorize them. Computers are made up of discrete modules. These can be categorized in various ways but for our purposes here we’ll use a slightly more complex system: There are six major classes of modules in the world of Xcom ew tech tree. Weapons, Cars, Houses, Spaceships and Ew Contraptions are the most important.
First off, there are three kinds of weapons in Xcom ew tech tree and they can all be divided into two main categories: Rifles and Shooters. There is a fourth category of weapons called ‘Combi’ weapons that are technically a combination of both Rifles and Shooters. This means they’re not really a separate class but we’ll just categorize them as such for simplicity’s sake.
Rifles fire a single shot or burst of multiple shots (depending on the weapon). They all take one turn to reload and most have several different firing modes that you can use to increase their damage output at the cost of accuracy.
The Modern Rules Of Tech Tree :
1. Stay away from the middle of the tree.
The best part of the tree are already picked out by the beginning players and you’re better off moving outwards towards the fringes. The middle of the tree is where all the power is and it’s unlikely you’ll get much more than Tertiary upgrades without wasting lots of time. Why go through all that trouble to upgrade your Car Module when the top of the tree already has a nEw Car that gives you a lot more durability and mobility? Watching your New Car battle it out with other Ew Cars makes for great entertainment, but not so much for your enemy.
The bottom half of this tree also contains a ton of options that are worse than what you have already. By the time you want to upgrade your House Module, you’ll have enough money to buy a new house anyway. If you’re looking for something to do with your Lifepod and don’t have the cash for a Ship, then this is the tree for you.
So don’t waste time on that Tertiary Ew Drone. You can buy it later after you’re done filling in this tree and working your way through the High-Level Enemy Base Missions (HLEB).
2. Don’t worry about accuracy when it comes to Rifles.
As long as they shoot straight, accuracy will take care of itself. If you want to focus your efforts on shooty weapons, then that’s the best way to do it. Rifles are all about damaging enemies as fast as possible, so don’t waste your time trying to upgrade the accuracy of a Rifle when you can use the money for something else. There are some exceptions to this rule, but they’re rare and you’ll have to play around with it to find out. That’s why this stuff is so complicated, you know.
3. Pick the right upgrades for your robots and pick them at the right time.
This super-complex tree is a mess of useless upgrades but there’s one thing you should always remember: NEVER EVER SKIP OVER SOMETHING IN THE TREE JUST BECAUSE YOU “DON’T HAVE A GIMMICK.” It’s quite possible to have a Robot without any gimmicks at all and still be able to do everything your Ew Drone does. If you’re interested in livening up the Ew Drones gimmick features, then go right ahead. Just make sure that you don’t get stuck in the middle upgrading your Car Module until you’ve got a way better vehicle than what you already have. This tree is just as important as the rest of the Xcom ew tech tree.
4. Don’t focus on just one thing.
The way upgrades are arranged in the tree, you’ll always find yourself wanting to take a particular upgrade even if it means that you won’t get the ones you really wanted up top. They’re all very similar, though, and you can only get one of them at a time. That’s why it’s important to pick the right upgrades for your robots and pick them right when they unlock.
