Morde is a melee carry and support champion with a phenomenal amount of damage output. With almost all skills scaling off of his W and Q, he can put out some serious damage.
He has one of the lowest cooldowns in the game at 3.5 seconds for his R, allowing him to keep up his ability to put out constant damage for high uptime throughout the whole game.
He has very low mana costs for spells, allowing him to spam constantly without having to worry about mana issues.

1. How to counter Morde?
Morde has very strong sustain through his W. He has also got a range of CC to help him in combat, providing proper engagement while also giving him control over an area while fighting. However, he is melee which makes it easier to deal with him in combat.
Morde ULT from leagues of legend is generally easy to deal with, even when under-geared or when you do not see him coming he will still die quickly because of the bursty nature of his basic attacks.
However, if you are able to get your team into position and land some good CC then you should be able to eliminate the threat that Morde presents.
2. How much will it cost you?
Morde is free to play! He will cost you no IP or RP, and has a very low price tag on him. In fact he is not even worth a single IP or RP.
This makes his free to play price around 0, which is the best value you can get from any character.
3. How to use him properly?
Morde’s Q applies a damage over time spell onto the target that also slows. Morde’s E applies a buff onto Morde that makes his basic attacks apply a DoT on top of the AD modifier which lasts for 3 seconds.
His R increases his attack speed by 20% and decreases the cooldown of his E and Q.
All of Morde’s skills scale off of his W, which also applies a DoT on the target as well as increasing his AP as well as increasing his attack damage for 5 seconds.
This allows him to use W as a gap closer during fights to increase the attack speed of your team and give your basic attacks more damage.
4. What does he do?
Mordecai is an effective tank who excels in lane and can push very effectively and win fights without necessarily needing any assists.
Morde can also go mid lane if you need someone to be safe against an AP carry, but he will not excel in this role.
He will only be able to farm safely with his W and Q so he will not be very effective at getting last hits.
Morde is also effective at killing the enemy team’s AD carry, as his Q and auto attacks do a great deal of damage to any champion that is tanky or squishy.

I personally like to use Flash and Exhaust. Flash is extremely valuable for a champion like Mordekaiser because he can gap close and also save himself from ganks, providing the extra CC needed to kill an enemy champion.
Exhaust slows enemies and reduces their damage output which allows his team to finish them off easily.
6. Which items should I use?
You will want to build your Boots of Speed into one of the following depending on your play style: Sorcerer’s Shoes, Mercury’s Treads, or Boots of Swiftness.
I like to build Merc Treads because it provides Magic Resist and Tenacity which is useful for survivability, however the Magic Pen that Sorcerer’s Shoes gives can definitely be useful.
I have found Mercury’s Treads to be the most effective so far.
