Although ITSON Virtual is the Information Technology system for the University of North Texas, it’s not just for UNT students. The virtual system allows anyone to log on and access UNT information from any device with an internet connection, which can help you save time and money in your studies.
Some benefits of using ITSON virtual are that they allow you to do research online that provides you with diverse sources such as databases and university websites, so you don’t have to worry about finding pertinent items when doing something outside of your main field. But since ITSON is a virtual library, you will be limited by the availability of specific books or articles.
ITSON also provides email accounts for students to use when they are away from their computers. This is because ITSON allows students to access their email from a variety of devices such as phones, laptops, and tablets; this benefits students who have to take time off of their computer for everyday tasks such as studying. Using ITSON Virtual allows you to do more of your course work outside the classroom and it gives you the ability to keep up with your friends and classmates without having to physically meet them.
ITSON takes a lot of hard work and dedication to set up. It is the largest virtual system and began in 2003 to help fulfill the needs of the university. ITSON was designed to be easily accessible to all students no matter where they are. Even though ITSON is new, it is still a great tool for our growing community. The decision to apply ITSON Virtual as a resource tool also took considerable time. The idea of virtual resources came about because of the increasing importance placed on developing more cost-effective solutions for libraries and information services.
Clarifications On ITSON Virtual :
1. ITSON IS NOT A LAW FIRM OF UNT
Although ITSON has been designed and set up as a law firm, it can not give legal advice or inform students of their rights during a legal problem they may face. ITSON is meant to be used by current UNT students as a resource tool to aid with getting through their daily work.
2. ITSON HAS NO REGARD FOR PEOPLE WHO DO NOT STUDY AT UNT
It is important for all students of the UNT to use ITSON Virtual, since this system helps out the student body and does not require any big commitment from them. ITSON also helps out the library and staff that put together this system for us, so all are gainfully employed when using ITSON Virtual.
3. ITSON HAS NO ACCESS TO STUDENT PERSONAL INFORMATION
The student information system has been separated from ITSON Virtual in order to protect students’ privacy. As a result, if any misuse of the student information system by ITSON leads to the loss of any student’s information, we can not fully compensate the student and this will not be considered a breach on our part.
4. ITSON REMAINS FOR THE BENEFIT OF UNT STUDENTS ONLY
Although ITSON has been created for the benefit of current UNT students only, it is still open for other users to use when they have an internet connection and need access to research material in their majors or across the board.
5. ITSON WAS DESIGNED FOR ALL UNT STUDENTS TO USE
It is important to note that the ITSON system was created specifically for current UNT students only and it will always remain that way. It is hoped that this future choice of existence will help benefit the UNT community as a whole and should be taken into consideration when making decisions about ITSON Virtual. We are dedicated to the future of this system and hope that those who are interested in utilizing its services continue to utilize it, but we also realize that a change in decision is needed for their own personal benefit in order for ITSON to carry on.
6. ITSON IS NOT THE SAME AS EZ BENEFITS
Although they both have the same usage of keeping track of the tuition and registration periods, EZ BENEFITS is a different system altogether and should not be confused with ITSON Virtual.
7. ITSON IS DESIGNED FOR PROFESSIONAL STUDIES
Students who want to use this resource will benefit students with professional studies since it contains information that can be found in textbooks, such as study guides and syllabi for classes; this allows for students to review their past information that might have been forgotten or missed. ITSON will also contain other resources such as study guides, handouts and assignments among other things that students need in their professional studies.
8. ITSON IS NOT FOR NON-UNT STUDENTS
Although there is no barrier to accessing UNT information, it is important to note that there is a barrier to accessing the student information system, so if you are not a current UNT student and try to get into the student information system by going through ITSON Virtual you will be denied access. This does not mean that you can’t use ITSON in order to access general university information since any user of the internet with an active account can take advantage of this service.
