The Delta College Foundation is an independent, nonprofit organization of business and community leaders dedicated to improving access to higher education through scholarships, community service, and innovative education.
The Delta college Foundation is the oldest continuously operating scholarship foundation in west central Michigan. Its mission is to provide financial assistance for college students from west central Michigan who otherwise may not be able to afford a college degree or part-time university program.
Among its achievements are the Delta College Scholarship Program that provides support for students headed to post-secondary education and the Gamma Gamma Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Fraternity whose members help children in grades K-12.Delta College is an award-winning, public community college in Michigan. Founded in 1941 and accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, Delta is one of the largest institutions of higher education in the region.
The college offers a comprehensive range of associate degree and certificate programs for transfer, occupational training and personal enrichment. Delta College has a long history with Beta Sigma Phi, Gamma Gamma Chapter. It was on the campus of Delta College in 1987 that members of Gamma Gamma held their organization’s first public service project, a clothing drive for needy children. Since then, Delta College has become the home chapter because its members have shown themselves to be among the most responsible and active on campus, providing many hours of service through the United States.
Started in 1922 at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts, Beta Sigma Phi was established as a national organization by seven women who wished to promote and develop community service as an integral part of post-secondary education.
