Peter Frampton’s Big Album

Discovered playing for tips in bars, Peter Frampton soon became a touring phenomenon. He’s the only artist to have two albums listed in Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

But what are his most beloved songs?

The answer is discussed here about what designated peter frampton’s frampton comes alive! a “big album”?

This article takes a look at the 10 best songs Peter Frampton has released over his five-decade long career.

Whether you’re looking for songs to play for a listening party or just want to dive into some of the best music Peter Frampton has ever recorded, these are your picks.

10. “Lines on My Face”

The Memory Gospel is an album that marks the end of an era and the beginning of a new one. It’s where Peter Frampton gave up his life as the voice behind popular rock and roll tracks, instead using his prodigious guitar skills on projects by artists he respects.

It was this artistic choice that made The Memory Gospel so strong, and so is “Lines On My Face,” which manages to be sad, happy, haunting and comforting all at once.

9. “Magic”

“Magic,” as mentioned earlier, is an album that features songs by artists who admired Frampton’s vocal ability, like The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, The Kinks and more.

When it was released in late 1976, “Magic” wasn’t even the lead single from The Effortless Mastery album, instead being released as a bonus track on January 9th of 1977.

But because it was so well-received in concert and after listening to it numerous times across the following months, “Magic” became the lead song for Peter Frampton’s fifteenth studio album.

8. “I Can’t Stand It No More”

Frampton Comes Alive! is the album that made Peter Frampton a household name, and as such, it’s also one of the most beloved albums by his fans. “I Can’t Stand It No More” is one of the most popular songs from his breakthrough album, which reached #1 on the Billboard 200 and stayed there for three weeks. It was #1 in nine countries around the world, including Australia and New Zealand.

7. “Baby, I Love Your Way/Freebird”

Frampton Comes Alive! may be Peter Frampton’s most famous album, but he could have easily been buried in the heap of other rock albums that were also released in late 1976.

But thanks to the genius music video released by ABC Records, which paired Frampton’s “Baby I Love Your Way” with The Freebirds’ “Freebird,”Peter Frampton became an icon overnight.

The video has been viewed more than 122 million times on YouTube and is one of the most famous videos in music history.

6. “Show Me The Way”

Frampton Comes Alive! is an album that was recorded on the road, using hotel rooms and concert halls to record the nine tracks.

In fact, there are interesting stories about how “Show Me The Way” was recorded. For one thing, the drums were played by Frampton’s guitar tech, John Siomos.

And when Peter Frampton wasn’t strumming along to his guitar (which he used on his early tours), he was singing into a microphone held by a friend because he ended up dropping his microphone prop in between takes.

5. “I’ll Give You Money”

Peter Frampton was always a fan of the blues, and with his 1977 album I’m in You, he took his love for the genre and turned it into his most successful album.

Featuring some of Peter Frampton’s best songs (“I’m In You,” “Baby I Love Your Way” and more), the album is a masterful blend of blues, pop and rock music.

In fact, it was so well-received that it reached #5 on the Billboard 200 chart, which is a first for any progressive blues album.

4. “Show Me The Way”

When discussing Peter Frampton’s work in the mid-1970s, it’s impossible to not include this track. “Show Me The Way” is a hit single that was released in February of 1977, rising to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100.

It also charted at #1 on the Billboard Rock Tracks chart. This was Peter Frampton’s third top 10 hit and his second number one single on the rock charts.

3. “Do You Feel Like We Do”

Even though Peter Frampton’s most popular albums are the ones where he performed with other artists like The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Ringo Starr and more, this is actually one of his solo albums that features his most beloved songs.

While “Show Me The Way” remains one of his most popular singles (it reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1978), it pales in comparison to the very next song on the album, “Do You Feel Like We Do.” Even though this song was released as a single in 1978, it wasn’t even a major hit in America.
